Conference "Strengthening SMEs and crafts through standards"
Cooperation between the Polish Committee for Standardization (PKN), the Polish Craft Association (ZRP), SMEunited and Small Business Standards (SBS) resulted in organizing the conference "Strengthening SMEs and crafts through standards: Practical examples and opportunities to engage in standardization". The conference in a hybrid formula was held on November 26, 2024 at the headquarters of ZRP at ul. Miodowa 14 in Warsaw.
The participants of the event were welcomed by Ewa Zielińska – President of PKN and Vice President for CENELEC Policy and Prof. Dr Hab. Jan Klimek – President of the Polish Craft Association.
The invited speakers and panelists discussed, among others, the functioning of the standardization system in Poland; presented the benefits of using standards and ways of getting involved in standardization; also provided various examples of how standardization strengthens SMEs.
During the conference, it was repeatedly emphasized that standards play a key role in ensuring the quality, safety and interoperability of products and services in various industries. The use of standards and involvement in standardization can translate into numerous benefits, including increased market competitiveness, improved quality of products and services, compliance with legal requirements or building trust and reputation.
