PKN's Cooperation with European Commission
On 6 and 7 May 2015 in PKN’s Headquarters in Warsaw a seminar concerning cooperation with countries from Eastern Partnership in the field of standardization was held. The participants of the seminar were representatives of standards bodies and other institutions connected with standardization from CEN-CENELEC Affiliate countries: Georgia, Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia.
The seminar was organized by PKN and European Commission DG Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations through TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange).
During the seminar the interactions between standardization activities on the national and European level were discussed. Except for the participants from CEN-CENELEC Affiliate countries, also Katja Modric-Skrabalo – DG GROW (Directorate-General for Internal Market Industry Entrepreneurship and SMEs) representative and Eric Marchand, Programme Manager from CEN-CENELEC Management Centre, took part in the seminar. They presented the functioning of trade agreements between EC and countries of Eastern Partnership; they underlined legal and standardizing issues. They also introduced how European Standardization is functioning, especially how important harmonized standards are.
PKN’s representatives familiarized the participants of the seminar with PKN’s activity, strategy, procedures connected with drawing up standardizing documents, functioning of Technical Committees (KT) in Poland and international cooperation.
