The event was organized by the Polish Committee for Standardization and the Polish Pest Control Federation was a conference partner.

The conference was dedicated to representatives of food companies, trade, official food control, certification bodies, laboratories and companies providing pest control service.

The risks for food safety and thus for consumers are: globalization, deforestation, increasing pest population, travel intensity, elongation of the supply chain, anonymous recipients. Therefore, compliance with the relevant procedures by all food chain participants and a new approach to risk assessment should be a necessity.

During the conference were discussed issues related to the concept of "One Health", the new quality standards and standardization policy.

An important element of the event was the presentation of the principles of voluntary certification process for compliance with

PN EN 16636:2015-03 in the field of pest control. The standard contains clear requirements and guidance for service providers on how to ensure a high-quality, professional pest management service which minimizes risks to human health and any potential negative impact on the environment.
