On 19th May Tomasz Schweitzer, President of the Polish Committee for Standardization, accepted the award from the Polish Windows and Doors Association (POiD). The event took place at the 7th Polish Woodwork Congressorganized at the Warszawianka Hotel in Jachranka.
The first meeting of Standardization Council (SC) in its 4th term of office took place in Warsaw on February 5th 2016. Members of The Council are chosen through elections and nominations - once every four years. The term of the current SC will last until 2018.
On 1-2 February 2016 two high representatives of AENOR (La Asociación Española de Normalización y Certificación), national standards body of Spain, paid a visit to the PKN.
Polish Committee for Standardization since many years has been striving for the best possible cooperation with standards bodies of eastern neighbours. Such cooperation is in the interest of Polish companies operating in those markets.
On December 9 at the headquarter of DIN in Berlin it has been signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Polish Committee for Standardization and the German Institute for Standardization (DIN).
The „New standards of hygiene and food safety in EU” conference took place in Warsaw on 2nd of December 2015. The event was organized by the Polish Committee for Standardization
On October 14th in Minsk representative of Polish Committee for Standardization signed a cooperation agreement with its Belarussian counterpart. The agreement was signed by Ms Jolanta Kochańska, vice-president of PKN, and by Mr Viktor Vladimirovich Nazarenko, Chairman of Gosstandart of Belarus.
On 6th of October in PKN’s headquarters in Warsaw PKN-IEC Workshop entitled: “Standardization – strategies, processes, tools” took place. The workshop was attended by the chairmen of technical committees which cooperate with IEC, Polish representatives for IEC Young Professionals and PKN’s representatives.
The workshop was conducted by Mr Jan-Henrik Tiedemann, IEC Community Manager.
Baltic Standards Forum is an annual gathering of representatives of national standardization bodies from Lithuania (LST), Estonia (EVS), Latvia and Poland (PKN). This year’s edition took place between 26th and 28th of August.
This year, the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the second time organized a series of meetings for Polish entrepreneurs from Belarus and Belarusian Poles working in local communities. Within the framework of the training program five groups of Polish entrepreneurs and activists of local self-governments take a series of meetings in the Polish business environment institutions. This year, five visits have been organized, including Polish diaspora from: Brest, Hrodna, Homel, Minsk and Vitebsk districts.
